As an immigrant to Canada from Flanders, the first poem I learned included the following lines...

β€œSnow has went, spring are here, it happens this way every year...

Snow has went, the grass is ris, I wonder where the daisies is?...”

Apparently Spring is from β€œSpringing time” which was shortened over the years to Springtime and later to Spring. Springing time was in reference to those daffodils in your photo.

I never knew it could have been originally called Springing time, but that does make sense.

I am going to notice everything that is springing up in my life x
